Our client is aggressively expanding their operations and have substantially increased their exploration activities in gold and base metals.
They now wish to appoint a Chief geologist to lead study activities at pre-feasibility and feasibility stages.
This will involve in-house sampling and QA/QC, reserve calculations and set-up plans.
The work is strategic, and will ensure all projects are correctly assessed and appraised, utilising the company's extensive geological information base and resource modelling facilities.
New mine plans will be derived from these models and vital input will determine optimal development of new mines.
A separate functional group will then have responsibility for project execution. The appointee will also work closely with Exploration to establish priorities in managing the project pipeline.
We are seeking a qualified professional (preferably to Masters level) with a minimum 15 years relevant experience in managing studies and project development. Proficiency in GIS, resource modeling and mining software is essential.
